How we collect, use and protect your personal data. Last updated 4 September 2026.
Who we are
Julimer Advisory (RC-1001556) is an independent risk, marine, claims, fire safety and property technical advisory firm headquartered at 4 Samuel Ajayi Str., Eyita Estate, 104231, Lagos, NG. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website and our services.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us through forms, email or phone: name, email address, phone number, company and the content of your enquiry.
- Engagement data created when we work with you: instructions, survey records, reports, invoices and correspondence.
- Technical data such as server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) kept for security and performance.
- Cookie and preference data stored on your device, as described in our cookie policy.
How we use your data
- To respond to enquiries and provide the services you ask for.
- To prepare quotes, surveys, reports and claims documentation.
- To manage our client relationship, invoicing and records.
- To keep our website and client portal secure, and to meet legal, regulatory and professional obligations (including NAICOM and anti-money-laundering requirements where applicable).
- To improve our website, with analytics used only where you have accepted optional cookies.
Our legal basis
We process personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where relevant, other applicable laws. Our bases are: your consent (for optional cookies and marketing); the performance of a contract (to deliver surveys, assessments and claims support); our legitimate interests (running and securing our business); and compliance with legal obligations.
Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: service providers who process data on our instructions (for example email, hosting and storage providers); insurers, brokers or counterparties where necessary to deliver the service you instructed; and authorities where the law requires it. Where providers are located outside Nigeria, we take steps to ensure your data receives equivalent protection.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months if we do not work together. Engagement records, surveys and reports are kept for as long as needed to meet legal, regulatory and professional requirements, typically at least six years. You can ask us to delete earlier data at any time.
Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent at any time; and lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). To exercise any right, email info@julimer.com. We respond within 30 days.
Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk: encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our systems, and careful handling of survey and claims evidence. No method of transmission is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
